Thinking about selling
#1
I am really thinking about selling my 1996 400 Sportsman and getting a 4 stroke sport machine. What does everyone think would be a good price to ask for the old girl? For those who dont know what all I have done to it......engine has about 40hrs on topend that is ported,.040 over,Boyson power reeds,Aaen Torquer pipe &silencer, clutch kit,UNI filter,HPD steering post bushings, new battry, new counter balance seal, new chains and front sprockets, rebuilt front hub, rebuilt rearend,GBC Gators along with lots of TLC.Only thing I know that it needs is a switch for the winch. Give me an idea .And how about some input on what to replace it with.Thinking about a Scrambler 500 or god forbid a Raptor or 400EX.

If you like the auto i would definitely say scambler 500 4x4, If ya wanna try something with a clutch than an any year 400ex would be a safe bet. DS650s are nice too, and if ya really really have to have a raptor, just make sure its an 02 or newer.
As for a selling price on your current quad, maybe a 1000 bucks? I'm not too good at judging the value of quads, but if I'm not mistaken, Polaris resale isnt too peachy.

I ride mainly tech trails .I am leanin more to a 500 Scrambler.I like the 400ex but think I would miss reverse and the last Raptor I rode was a monster that would take getting used to but that was before I rebuilt the 400 now it is a monster too. I may not get rid of it but..........I am ready for a upgrade to a newer ride but plan on keeping my 425 for when I need 4x4 .
