Default 2002 TB Starter Help

Hi,

I have read several post on how to repair a trail blazer electric start. I have taken out the bolts I believe to be the ones described, but have a hard time removing the electric start motor/ assembly. It doesn't seem to even wanna come loose. Can some one give me any deatils I might need, photos, etc. I was wondering if anyone had the service manual for the TB to scan the pages that cover the starter service and e-mail them to me so I can get as much detail as possible. I would appreaciate anything at this point.

Happy and Safe Riding!!!

I believe that there is a total of 5 bolts that have to be removed
to get the starter out. The two that I think you missed are pretty
hard to reach. One is on the bottom of the engine case so you
have to remove the plastic skid plate to get at it. The other one
is on top outside end of the starter. You might want to take the
carb off to get at that one. The easy way, but more time consuming,
would be to remove the clutch cover, both the primary and secondary
clutches and the back side of the clutch housing. All your bolts are in
easy reach that way.

This is on a trail blazer, the starter is on the bottom, not the top like a scrambler. I beileve I have the remove the entire pullstart assembally to get to two bolts that hold the starter motor assembily, is this correct??

Yes the starter is on the bottom and yes you will have to remove
the pull starter to get to those bolts. I assumed that those where
the bolts you already removed. The two bolts that I described are
not easily accessable.

Yes I know which two you mean, what confused me is you said to remove the carb to make it easier, the carb is no where near those bolts on the trailblazer.
