I'm considering purchasing a leftover 2002 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO Freedom. This is a brand new quad from the dealer, and they are selling it for $5900.00 They want to get rid of it so they can make room for the 2004 models. So they have reduced the price from $7700.00 to $5900.00, which I find hard to pass up. The info I would like is as follows: Is this a good price? Is this a good 4X4 that is reliable? The dealer told me that the racks and winch were extra. Now this is where you people can really help me out. Everything I've read online says that this Freedom special quad came standard with: Red white and blue color scheme, chrome wheels, utility racks and winch, hence the hefty price compared to a standard 500 Ho. My question is this, If this thing came standard with the racks and winch, why is the dealer trying to sell them to me for extra? Or is the info I've read online incorrect? Or is the dealer just trying to get a few extra bucks from me? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

No doubt it's a fine machine. But, it does seem a bit too high. There is a dealer in Tennessee selling 03 500's for 5400 and 04 for 5600. I list the link below.
