'00 325 Trailboss question
#1
Just bought an '00 Trailboss dirt cheap. It's really not in too bad a shape, but it needs a little work. The main concern I have with it is the clattering sound it makes when starting. Coming from the left side, it sounds like the transmission is rubbing on the plastic cover. Once it idles up, the clattering stops. The previous owner fabricated a patch to cover a hole where it had worn it's way through. Just wanted some info on what is causing it, and what I can do to remedy the situation. This is the first Polaris I have owned, so I'm not real familiar with the setup.

You can buy a new cover from polaris. It is either the cover or the clutch masking the noise. Pull the cover off and see if the noise is still there or not. Then you will know what you need to buy!

Seems the clutch cover was the problem. It was warped pretty bad. I got a new one from Surdyke.com for around $65.00. Took care of the problem. Thanks for the info!
What do I need to do to get a little more low end grunt out of it? There's some hesitation when you hit the gas before it engages.
