Hmmm, so my direct contact with riders....like I posted about is rumor. My direct contact with poaching dealers...that's rumor too. Maybe you better look in the mirror Sparky, cause I think you're missing something. I'm spouting "Polaris propoganda", in what, wait a minute, let me double check....Oh yea, this is the Polaris forum. Kinda seems like a fitting place for it don'tcha think? Ride what you want, I have my fave.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've seen 2 yfz's at the local mx track, and I wasn't inpressed with them. Granted, one was bone stock and it was the riders first quad, but he stated he has been riding his friends quads for a few years. I talked with him a while, and he himself wasn't inpressed for the cost of the machine. The other one was lowered with smaller tires, set up well for the mx track, baffle removed, so on, and it wouldn't stay running. After it would die, it had to be bump started. I never did find out what the problem was with that one.

lol, there is mabey not even 20 - 30% of the overall riders on this site(for polaris) on this site, and barely 20% of that 20 - 30%overall have some problems that they posted...as for the service bays at polaris dealership, the two cycleworks locations in my city(polaris/kawasaki dealerships) have not that many compared to this one yamaha/suzuki location(riverside yamaha/suzuki) location, i have seen more quads waiten in the service department, than at the polaris dealership, and there are only a few polaris dealerships here.
also think how good most of the polaris quads are sellen, if there not reliable. then why in the hell are soo many people buying polaris ATV's,
Polaris entered the ATV market with the first-ever automatic ATV back in 1985, and has produced more than 1 million automatic ATVs — six times more than all competitors combined. Polaris has repeatedly set the benchmark for powerful ATVs, and has solidified its leadership position with the Sportsman 700 Twin, the powerhouse of the Polaris Sportsman family — the best selling line of automatic ATVs in the world.
link for that is below

ps. xx = tt
pretty impressive for this so called "unreliable" brand of quads...
also the compitition between Polaris, Honda, yamaha, suzuki and artic cat. for ATV sales is
rank - manufacture - share(%)
1 - Honda - 31%
2 - Polaris - 23%
3 - Yamaha - 22%
4 - Kawasaki - 9%
5 - Suzuki - 7%
6 - Arctic Cat - 5%
then there are the snowmobile sales, which polaris is #1
1 - Polaris - 31%
2 - Bombardier - 30%
3 - Arctic Cat - 27%
4 - Yamaha - 12%
(satistics by RBC capital markets, statistical data taken from 2001 and 2002 years(copyrighted 2003). if u want me to send u a link for the PDF, send me a PM.
#2 in ATV sales, above yamaha(#3) for a manufacture for "unreliable quads", if they were "unreliable" then why would they be ranked #2 for top selling ATV's and above yamaha.....that says something about them, that they know what there doing.
ps....note the six times more than all competitors combined part, like i said, if they were soo unreliable, then why would people buy them?!
ps(#2)....note the the best selling line of automatic ATVs in the world.

Polarisdude- I am amazed at the number of sales polaris generates. The US buying market likes heavy utility quads i suppose. lol
Polaris does have the reputation for being unreliable but in there defense they have gotten 100 times better the last 3 or 4 years.

Had a 2000 Trailboss 325 bought brand new sold after 2 years!
Replacement parts list mechanical failures
axle
both rear hubs stripped 1 twice.
rear shock
both front struts
1 front strut housing
2 chains broken!
starter
Battery
front and rear brakes 3 times
Honda Recon bought at the same time within a month
Replacement parts
NONE not 1 single part replaced!
I even put a plow on the recon and do the driveway with it.
Needless to say I still have the recon and the trailboss is long gone!
I have also had my Raptor almost the same amount of time.
Replacement due to mechanical failure:
Rear wheel bearings!
This is not to say every Polaris breaks down just the 1 that I have owned. I have friends that have a sport 400L, Scrambler 400 and trailblazer 250 that like them very much. Easy to ride Automatics and they don't ride them very often and rarely ride them hard. I also had a friend that had a Scrambler 400 and had nothing but problems with it. He did ride it hard.
Went for a group ride last week with a bunch of Honda lovers from ex riders there were about 15 of us. 4 Yamaha's 10 Honda's 1 Polaris Sportsman. Take a wild guess which quad had to have the truck sent out to pick it up? The rear suspension on the practically brand new sportsman 500 just tore apart just driving normal did not hit a thing. You guys think the Yamaha guys rag on Polaris you have not heard a thing till you hear a group of Honda guys talk about them. They could not stop trashing it!
