OLD Polaris, many questions
#1
I have an old polaris 250 r/es trail boss. It was one of the first years they had them out, i think it is a 1985 or 86. I forget, I am original owner but was young when we bought it. It has been sitting for many years now, It is in pretty bad shape. I am looking to get it going again. I was able to start it after changing gas/oil, freeing up the electric starter gear, and jumping it from a good battery. The pull rope snapped along time ago. I have a few questions to start. What fluid is in the transmission? What year parts would work on this thing. It needs some serious help and if anyone has a manual they would like to get rid of? Does anyone know where I can get parts? kmmon1@aol.com
any info is appreciated.
thanks

Hi Kevin. The Transmission takes Chaincase Lubricant. I honestly can't say what year parts would work but i think most trailboss 250's through 94 or so would have lots of compatible parts. Most parts are still availble new through polaris. As for used parts perhaps check ebay? I'm really not sure...maybe someone else knows some good spots to pick up used atv parts

I would first start by checking the internet for micro-films on your trail blazer. I have found these very helpful. I can't remember where they are exactly. It has been a while since I have used them. This will allow you to see what other year trail blazer parts fit yours. Hope I have helped. If you have any other questions that I can help you with you can pm me.
