Default help with trailtech speedometer

I am getting ready to order a trailtech speedometer for my 02 trailboss from rocky mountain atv. My problem is that i dont know if i just have to order the speedometer or if I have to get a bracket for my handlebars or new handlebars or what? If you have to order a bracket, why do they have specific models listed for just the computer? I really could use some help on this one.

You can get everything seperately. The billet mounts are seperate from just buying the computer. If they don't have one for your machine, PM me, and I'll send you a pic of an easy aluminum bracket. Trailtech.net is their direct site. Kelly and Geoff are super nice to work with. Also, I'm sure Rocky Mtn would know the details too.

It comes with a small bracket to mount it. Look at how I have mine mounted. You can get a billet protector for it if you chose. I think something like the 400EX protector would work

I bolted mine right in the middle of the plastic cover that covers the handlebar bolts, it's a nice fit, no problems yet.

The hardest part of the whole thing is drilling the hole in the caliper mount. As long as you use the size they say and drill straight you will be fine. Well it was just hard for me to take a drill to a brand new machine.

All in all it was a very fast install. Don't forget to put locktite on the new magnetic bolt before you install it in the rotor if yours comes with one.

The instructions in the kit will show you a couple of ways to mount it, one is on the handlebars, the other diagram shows how to mount it onto a flat surface, use the flat surface instructions on the handlebar cover, I took mine off and took my time drilling the holes, I also drilled a bigger hole through the cover under the sensor mount and ran the speedometer cable throu it. All you see on my bike is the computer and no wires.

I mounted mine to the handlebars also, have pics in my photo album. My wires are routed pretty well were they are not visible. BTW Good product.
