Default Polaris tranny question

My Trailboss grinds a little when trying to take it out of neutral. If you start it in gear it works fine. The linkage is bent a little. Does anyone think it could be the gearbox if it still works fine. I don't wan't to buy new linkage if the gearbox is bad.

It could be the linkage. Or it could be that your idle is to high. Or even that you clutches need to be aligned and your belt is engageing a little. Try applying the brake before you shift and see if it still does it.

Check the tie rod looking end that connects at the transmission, I had a guy bring me his to work on becuase the local polaris dealership told him it needed a new transmission and all that was wrong with it was the tie rod looking joint at the trans.

Also, with the great tips the others already gave, don't forget to give the shift linkage a shot of lube periodically.
