Anyone know what the "better cooling" on the 04 1/2's actually means?? bigger radiator? can it be retro'ed for the 02's or 03's??????

What the H$LL where they thinking when they put those turf tires on the sportsmans!!! Now it puts them in the same class as all the other utes, as far as stock tires go. It must have been soem stupid contract thing with Carisale (sp?) They make the 489AT now too??? Did Titan sell that design to them??

 

I don't mean to get off the subject but I agree with the tire thing. They know what we want. It must be a $ or an evironmental issue or something. Dunno?

 

I think the tires were cheapened so they could release the new quads with upgrades (fuel guage, improved cooling, etc.) without a price increase.

There are a few reasons why they did the tire change. One is that the new tires are a claimed 20lbs lighter. They are also 6 ply side walls as well as 6 ply tread. They are radials too, which could mean better high speed stability. The tread is nowhere near as agressive, but then neither are the other brands. These tires should provide higher top speeds which is what some people have been complaining about with Polaris. In my mind these big atv's don't need to go 60mph but some people think they need too.
