no red light on mine, but it is 2000. the fan is for the oil cooler. mine has come one maybe a dozen times since new. even then it was in heavy brush, on open trails it almost never comes on. as far as engine cooling, its just plain old air. the 2003 is also air with fan assist oil cooler.

Make sure the vent hose isn't kinked or pinched off. An easy test is when it's just about to die, open the gas cap. If it keeps running, that's your problem (been there, done that).

Hey Pennyless I like the red tape on your EGT gauge, I will have to do that to mine, it is so hard to see those small numbers accurately when getting on it. Thanks for the idea.

I agree with 95sport400. I think your gas vent tube is kinked. Open the gas cap and see if it still stalls out.
