Can this same problem happen with a 2000 Trail Boss? Sounds like a similar problem. The engine runs fine, starts fine, and will rev pretty high in neutral. However, when on the trail, in a field, or wherever, it just doesn't run as fast as it used to. I rode mine for a while on a large field where we had cut a trail. Had the throttle hammered pretty much the whole time. Then I went to get my wife's '00 Magnum. I had to be careful then. It seems that the Magnum was running much faster; in fact, I KNOW it was running faster.

Does my TB have that same white plastic nut that could come loose?

No your Trailboss does not have it,check for a worn belt,or tired springs in the clutching.

thanks for the info. i'm going to check mine just to be on the safe side. i would think if this happens to a lot of ATVs Polaris would have some kind of voluntary RECALL.

The belt was replaced in November, and I do not suspect it is already worn. How do I check for "tired springs?"

It would not be a recall unless it was a safety issue,we have only seen 2 out of 200 sold.
