Default Predator rear brake caliper bracket

I recently had the caliper bracket replaced under warranty by the dealer. It had be clanging around, not doing any damage, but still annoying. I rode around for two weeks on the new one, and it was like it had never been replaced. My dealer has been pretty good to me, but he informs me I'm gonna have to live with it. He said there is no fix, other than to keep replacing it, at my expense of course.

This sounds like a bunch a garbage to me, anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

By the way, this is not an invite to any idiots to bash what is otherwise a very fine machine.

Scott

I do not understand how this can be normal. How can it go from being tight with no play, to having huge amounts of play, all in two weeks. You can move that bracket around and see how wallowed out it is. There's got to be another way....

Why in the world would I want that overpriced piece of junk? I'd rather have a caliper problem than have it tip over on me or have the transmission fail, or have to mod the motor just to out run a 500cc Predator. The list goes on....

I knew there would be a least one.

I had the same problem with mine, and my dealer told me the same thing. I was able to cut down most of the noise by placing a small piece of rubber hose behing the busing on the swingarm. This will put some pressure on the carrier and cut down almost all of the noise.

Hope this helps,
Ryan

Default Loose Caliper Bracket

I have a 2005 Predator 500 and i have somewhat of the same problem. The bracket that the caliper is mounted on to is loose. Like it can spin around where it is mounted to the axle. I've talked to a couple of people and they told me that this is normal while others say it shouldn't do that. it only moves about a half inch. Im not sure if i should take it off and see if i can tighten it or what. Or how much it would be to fix it if i took it into the shop? any ideas?
