Any of you guys still here?

What about a stock 400?

What mix ratio?

I'm running 64:1 now with the Amsoil Saber and all looks good, except it smokes and stinks more than I had in mind.

72:1... 80:1... 100:1 ?

The Amsoil Saber is made to mix 100:1, which is a lean mix ratio. If you are using it at 64:1 (more oil) that's why you are getting more smoke and smell. I'd either use it at 100:1 or switch to the Amsoil Interceptor or Dominator 2 cycle oil which is made for 50:1 mixing.

I moved up to 72:1 and it helped quite a bit.

It still smokes and stinks at idle and until it gets warmed up.
But it is much improved.

I don't know if I'll move on up to 80:1 or 100:1 or not.

When Amsoil first came out with the 100:1 I used it in my 250R with no problems (@ 100:1). Now I use the Amsoil Dominator at 50:1 and like it too. In fact I use it in all my 2 stroke equipment.

I use Amsoil Saber at 100:1 with no problems. I use it in my TrailBoss and my CR250 as well as various other machines thru the years. On my Trailboss, I didn't even bother to block off oil injector pump, just disconnected and blocked-off the hose from the resevoir and plugged the oil hose going into the pump. Between me and my son, it has had the crap ran out of it with no problems what so ever. Wish my Arctic Cat was as dependable!

I could probably no kidding go to 100:1 then huh...?

I've been considering 80:1 since I saw how it did on the 72:1.

Everyone else has had me scared to death about under lubricating.

But now I am really starting to think that it is true what they say about this oil... that it actually contains more lubricant per oz and less additives, which is actually why it's safe to use at 100:1.

Well, to update I moved on up to 80:1...
And then on to 96:1 (2 oz per 1.5 gallons)...

Everything still seems fine, although some swear I'm going to blow it up.

I tried a small batch of Opti-2 along the way also.
I like it too.
