Scrambler stalling out

Default Scrambler stalling out

I just picked up a 99 scrambler 500, the problem I am having is when I shift into reverse the machine will stall out on me. Cant seem to fiqure it out. Any help would be apppreciated, thanks.

Default Scrambler stalling out

There is a rev limiter button on the left side of the handle bar.Push it while in reverse and see if it helps any.

No the idle is fine, and the reverse over ride button will keep it running when you shift into reverse but if you put it in reverse w/o using the button or release the button with it in reverse the motor will just quit running.

Sounds like your reverse override is the problem. Check for and loose or disconnected wires. You can also disconnect it, but you will need to do some modification to get the 4x4 to work in reverse.

Default Scrambler stalling out

You got a short, use a test light and you will find it real quick. Look for breaks in the wire all the way from the over-ride to the box. If you have a meter it will help. Need more help it's coming.
