Hi, I recently purchased a 2000 Scrambler 500 4x4. The bike came with a Hpd exhaust, Jet kit and clutch kit. I purchased this bike mostly for hunting and would like to put on a muffler silencer. The questions I have are Will the silencer work with a Hpd ehhaust and will I have to go back to the old jet size. Thanks,

I'll trade you my stock exhaust and I'll pay for all shipping. Just kidding. If you make it quieter ie. more restrictive you will have to rejet back to stock.

HPD has quieter mufflers. I don't know if they work with the 500, but you can call them and find out. You also may be able to have them put some kind of sound detening(sp?) material in it

 

Thank you for your fast replys! I just spoke to a tech. at HPD and he said they dont make a quiet muffler for 500's. When I asked him about the ads for the atv silencers he told me they are nothing more than tractor mufflers. Could this be true? He said you can pick them up at any farm or tractor supply. Could someone let me know if they heard of this. Thanks,

I have heard of using tractor mufflers. If HPD told you that then I would take their word. You could always put a stock muffler on their
