Default Scrambler 2002 2X4 help

I ride my scrambler 2X4 through the shallow Arkansas river of Kansas and never had problems untill recently. The quad is all stock except for a hpd chain tensioner. lately when i hit the water i lose power right as i come out of it and up the oppossite bank, its never done this before and only recently since i've added the tensioner. I wouldn't think that it would cause this, and it still runs great on open ground, sand and even out of water that comes out flat. The engine just sounds like it bogs down, a real low glug glug sound, loses power, and once out of the situation it runs fine. I'd appreciate anyone with any response as to what good be wrong.

Also i was wondering what anyone thought of the Hot Seat pipe/silencer, and clutch kit for the 2002 scrambler?

You are getting moisture or actual water in the carb through a vent line. It happened to me too.

Get the HPD kit instead.

Default Scrambler 2002 2X4 help

I have a hot seat speed kit that came off an 02 500 scrambler that has about 75 miles on it if you are interested. I can Email you some pictures of it if you want. I took it off the machine b/c i traded it in. Had no problems with it and it performed just as good as a person that has an hpd setup that i ride with all the time. Let me know if your interested.

I am with USMC on this one, the vent line is probably hanging low enough to get into the water and it changes the pressure inside the carb which in turn makes it run bad. Tuck the vent lines up in the frame out of the way of any water. Or... you can get a one way valve and install it inline with the vent hoses.
