How long did it take before the head pipe started glowing? Was it dark out? I have heard of some machines doing that. To tell you the truth, I have never looked at mine when it was that hot. I have heard of them glowing on other machines, like the Pred and SP700. I am not sure on the secondary spring setting. I THINK mine is at 2-2, but Im not positive. USMSQuader had that problem with the instrcutions saying one setting an the actual setting was different. Hopeful he will though his insight in on this one

ok it was dark out and it ran only for 10mins at the most. At first i thought it was running lean but i checked everything jet and the pilot screw.

You shouldn't be running lean. That is the correct jet (even though I got a 165 which was too rich) It may just be the new pipe. I dunno. But like I said, its not uncommon.

No problem. Did you get the rear spring set right? I remember this thread where USMCQuader had the problem with his clutch spring. The instructions said 2-3 but it was suppose to be on 2-2. Maybe that could be a problem?

OK AT FIRST I PUT IT AT 2-3 IT RAN FINE BUT TOPED OUT FAST SO I LOOKED OVER THE THREAD I NOW HAVE IT AT 2-2 AND IT RUNS EVEN BETTER DOES NOT TOP OUT FAST IT KEEPS GAINING SPEED AND THE RPMS STAY NOT TO LOW AND NOT TO HIGH JUST RIGHT. AS FOR THE GLOWING OF THE HEAD PIPE MY CARB WAS NOT PUSHED IN FAR ENOUGH AND WAS SUCKING AIR. NOW ITS GREAT HPD RULES!!!
