Default SP 700 carb adjustment???

My 700 has developed a mid-range burble. Having some experience adjusting carbs (high and low needles) I thought I would try to toy with this one. By only removing the seat and two side panels, I can't see any needles, only an idle screw. Can someone tell me where they are and how do I get to them? Any advice on what I should do is greatly appreciated.

Gary

if you unscrew the screws on the top of the carb, I belive there are two, you can get to your needle and play with the clips. Be carefull though cuz the screws are VERY soft and will round out on you.

Default SP 700 carb adjustment???

Hello,
Please elaborate on the meaning of burble.
If you read back about a week ago, I left a post in regards to my sportsman loosing power.
I wonder if it is similar.
Thankyou
Tim

Tim, I read your post about your 700 loosing power. It sounds like we may have the same issue. When I notice it the most is slowly transitioning from deceleration back to acceleration. It doesn't want to take the throttle immediately. But if I stand on the gas, it'll take it and accelerate. Also, when I'm just cruising along flat and level, it will burble/sputter. It will not hold a constant RPM without sputtering a little bit. When riding in the woods, I don't notice it as much because I'm usually on or off the throttle. But when just cruising a dirt road or even thru my neighborhood, it'll burble like that. I've heard some guys call it a flat spot (whether that's the same thing, I don't know...) The last big ride I did before I noticed this was on the beach. I'm wondering if salt or sand is doing anything. As we all know, those are probably some of the worst conditions for our machines. Please let me know what you've found out on yours.

Gary
