front springs and lift kit
#1
i was thinking of putting a set of progressive springs w/ adjuster kit on the front of my 00 500sportsman, but can i do this with a lift kit already installed in the front....seems like the threaded adjusters wouldn't fit...anyone try this yet?...thanks

It depends on the type of lift you have on the front. If it were me (only my opinion), I wouldn't add any additional lift beyond an 1.5 inch lift to the front of the sportsman. That progressive setup will give the front end additional lift. I understand from a Gene's Polaris dealership that beyond 1.5 inches of lift on the front, people begin to have problems with the cv-joints going south.

i have the highlifter lift kit...so what your saying is that the threaded adjustable piece will replace the spacer that is in the lift kit and i will still have the extra lift that that i had with the highlifter kit...that is what i was htinking but wasn't sure...thanks

I kept quiet utill I got my progressive lift heavy
duty springs set up on and I tried them out. I cranked them about at least an Inch. Did not measure. They are nice. The front end is stiffer now. I bought them because my new 26 inch mud bug tires were rubbing on the plastics allot. Now they do not rub at all. So for me, the progressive lift
cams with heavy duty springs did for me what I wanted. I like them. I am not quallified to tell you If i think they can go on with a regular lift kit as well. My guess would be yes they could but that it would not be a good mix. To me, I got extra clearance when I bought larger tires and now the adjustible cams on the front springs helps out. If I had a lift kit too, then its just one more thing that could break down and or put extra wear and tear on our quad. Just looking at the progressive lift setup. I dont think its any extra
wear on an atv and should be trouble free. Well, thats what I think.........rangerchet - xpedition 425 cc 5-speed.
