Default can a auto temp gauge be installed on a sportsman?

anyone ever install a auto temp gauge on there sportsman 500 or polaris at all? if so how is it installed and where do you put the sensor? looking to install a auto mech or electric temp gauge they are alot cheaper then ones you buy from highlifter (89.00) compared to one i can buy at walmart for $5.99. is there any difference?

With all the abuse (vibration) that an ATV dishes out, I would try to stick with a unit that has a liquid filled gauge. The Eddie Sander's Racing inline gauge has served me well. I'm not that familiar with the 700's configuration/accessability, but you can see for yourself at www.esr250.com.

A lot of people are putting automotive style gauges on the 700s. I am planning to install a 3 gauge set, temp, oil pressure and battery voltage on my 700. There are some good posts on that subject at atvnation polaris forum. Check this out.
