Ok, heres my take on the Hot Seat VS HPD parts. The HPD exhaust is nickel plated with an aluminum silencer, where as the Hot Seat pipe is just black paint. The Hot Seat kit is what, $550?? The HPD exhaust is $305, the clutch kit is $155. Thats $460 so far. Get a K&N filter for $35 with an Outerwears for $10 from Rocky MT ATV. That is a total of $505 compared to Hot Seats $550. So, for $45 less, you get a better performing exhaust that looks a lot better too. The HPD exhaust is not super loud either. They claim 93db and I would say that is accurate. It is not loud enough to **** off your neighbors, unless you have some a-hole neighbors that like to **** and moan. It has more of a deep melloe "potatoe potatoe" sound.

NYC, if your still interested in a Hot Seat Performance kit i just pulled one off my o2 500, to trade the bike in. The kit has about 75 miles on it. It has everything in it except the K&n filter.(couldn't find my original filter to put back on it). I was pleased with the performance and sound it had(it was a deep throaty sound) I never had it up against a stock machine. I ride with someone that has a HPD set up on an 03 500 And the bikes were very comparable. He would maybe get the hole shot on me but i also weight about 40Lbs. more than him. I never had any trouble with it and the jeeting that can with it seemed to be dead on the nuts. I can email you a pictice if the kit if you want. Let me know.

Hey NYC, How do you like your 2004 Scrambler 500? I am trying to decide between the Sportsman 600 and the Scrambler 500. I want to ride any and everywhere I can, Don't care much for snorkling or driving in mud over the fenders right now as my son has a preditor 90 and I want him to be able to ride with me. I notice in your pic #3 all your buddies have the Big 4x4's. I want to have fun sliding maybe light duty jumps, a little speed and a little mud and rock a good all around bike. Obviously you bought the Scrambler over a Big 4x4. How do you compare when riding with all your buddies? Sorry for all the questions Im just trying to make a tough decision any advice on whether to get the Scrambler over he Sportsman? How much did you pay for yours? List down here for Scramblers is $5999
Thanks for your help

I've rode with SP500's, Grizzly's and Kodiak's and we've never had to take a different trail because I couldn't make it!!
This past weekend I was in the mud up to the fenders with the big boys.....and I was ripping up donuts with the speedsters!
I was OTD with mine for $5700

Thanks NYC, I think your right, I have been leaning more towards the scrammy. I am a little old for the all out race bikes but I still want to rat race around and have fun without having to go all out everywhere.
Thanks for the reply
