Default Cold blooded Predator

Well the temps have dropped to mid 40s at home and I went to start our ATVs since they have been sitting for a couple months.

Well my wife's SP335 started with a little work but the Predator is absolutly hopeless to start without a heater when it's cold. I'm afraid that if and when I go on a Poker Run that the thing will get too cold and not start on me! I'm not about to get stranded in the cold so anyone have any suggestions?

I do know they say to rejet at 40 degrees.

I would turn in the airscrew at least 1/4 turn. Mine pops right off with the choke on, and only a brief starter engagement. I'll get PM to you.

Well we used 3 pieces of steel, welded them together, then bolted it onto the old grab bar. One bolt farther back then one farther up so its stable (on both sides of course). not sure what you mean by how far it extends.....like how far does it stick out? anyways it works great and i dont have to worry about flipping the quad over backwards. hope this helps

AKracer, I'm jelous at the temps your seeing. I know a couple nights ago it was mid 30s. Maybe this year I will get some snow to play with the Predator in.

Ahh I better save up for different rear tires!!

yea, the only reason we have warm weather right now is because of that hurricane in japan. the warm wind from there is blowing over here and making it warm, otherwise we would have the same temperatures as you What do you need new rear tires for?

I had the same problem with mine being cold blooded, when I did some carb mods it seemed to start a lot easier. I should mention though that I had my slip on almost immediately after I got it. When I didn't start my quad for a couple of weeks, it wouldn't start. Strange thing is that when I went to load it on my truck to (battery was getting low and needed a charge) I decided to take it to my dads the next day, so I took it off. Just for the hell of it I tried to start it again and it started right up. A Month later a similar thing happened, wouldn't start after sitting for too long. Out of curiosity I just lifted the front end for about 20 seconds and let it down. Then she started right up. I'm not sure why It was doing that, I did that several more times and it worked every time when I had trouble starting it. I never had that problem after I did the carb mods I did. Weird ha. Not sure why it worked that way. Maybe one of the vents was partially blocked or something. Just thought that I would give my experience. Oh yeah, it only gave me problems when it was cold and sitting for extended amount of time. Later
