Is it time to change brands?

Lightman, Get over the lack of reverse. 450 Yammi, 450 Honda, Predator 500, they're performance/race/sport quads, reverse is added wt. You're steering this thread off course.
There's also the largest dealer in Tennesee who's order was turned down. He came up for a local snowmobile grass drags.....was soooo bummed. He stated " they basically cut my legs off". Maybe I'm behind the times with families working hard to get somewhere in this country. Maybe the no holds barred, go for the throat, is the way to "win". I just wonder at what point someone says enough.

No offense lightman02 but Modquad I think what we have here is a kid trying to justify to us and himself buying a Jap quad. If that's what you want lightman02 then don't worry about it. Just don't go crying when you finally graduate high school and the best job you can find is flipping burgers at McDonalds. There are plenty of us who have had enough modquad. All we need is a leader to rally us.

im not trying to justifiy anything, i am just sayin that polaris has nothing new out , and i wanted a new bike that was good in the trails and had reverse and from what i understand the z400 is a great bike, i just was on a budget, and the pred just didnt fit my needs. i still love polaris, really i do. i did not come in here to start an arguement , if thats what your thinking. but alot of people arent over the fact that the pred doesnt have reverse, im sure alot of people would like it. just because i bought a suzuki doesnt mean that im going against polaris. and no affense tblazerdad but what does me graduating highschool and flipping burgers at burger king have to do with this?nothing.

Well it's like this lightman02.......Many companies in the USA are leaving. I realize your only 16 and you probably couldn't give a crap but take a look at the unemployment rate. It's only going to get worse. The CEO of the company I work for gave an interview to a local newspaper after the company made an anouncement that they were going to cut 800 jobs in the USA and move the work over seas. His comment was this. "America expects President Bush to shoot some silver bullet and make all of this go away. It's easy to blame the Government and big business for what is happening in the USA. The American people have made it clear they don't need or want American products. Some people should take a long hard look in the mirror. People drive there Japanese cars, wear there Chinese cloths and there Taiwanese shoes and wonder were there jobs went." That's why you'll be flipping burgers if your lucky because noting else will be left. And the people who are going to get hit the hardest are the ones who don't care or don't think it will effect them. America is changing fast. Better hold on to your a$$ because we're all in for a bumpy ride.

It's really a shame when we have sooooo much land mass, so many people, and dont rely on ourselves for our needs. We are truly one of the countries that could support themselves if needed, but as we all know it wont happen in my lifetime. We had a local Levi jean company shut down it's doors after 40 years in business. Can you guess the reason? Because they went out of the US to get the products. There were many employess at that large facility that now either had to retire or look for work elsewhere. Many things get assembled in Mexico by Jose' who makes a couple of dollars a day. Who cares if they speak english as long as they can put something together. But I can tell you from first hand experience that quality has went down the tubes. RCA televisions, Whirlpool replacement electronic boards, Magnovox TV's, etc. are being assembled there and the product failure in the 10 years I've been in the service field has doubled. Even replacement components are 75% quality of what they should be. We need the companies to take a long hard look at maybe losing some of their millions of dollars profit and keeping it at the homeland. We are doing nothing but making the other countries stronger and making us more dependent. I buy American when I can and am damn proud of it!

I know what you mean about the quality bubba. I work closely with engineering and tooling. I've seen blue prints for bearing components that our production workers were required to hold tolerances of .00005" and the new prints that go overseas are relaxed to .001" that's a substantle difference. Harley-Davidson stop buying head bearings from the company I work for because they started making them in China and Harley was having premature bearing failure problems. Harley damanded bearings made in the USA the company refused and Harley pulled their orders. It's not just factory jobs either. Our pay role and computer support have been moved to India. Plans to double our research facility in the states were canceled and a new facility was built in India. The USA is at a very vulnerable state right now and it keeps getting worse.

i never did think of it that way, just because im 16 doesnt mean i dont care, or dont think about the future.belive it or not i actually know there alot of people are unemployed out there. i do live in north jersey which is very close to ny, and i know how things are around here, and they arent great. and i think about if its going to get worse because of my future. but i do appreciate the imput. i hate jap cars, if if i were to buy a truck it would be a ford or chevy not no friggin toyota or nissan. its true that we are becoming independant, if i were to make a decision on wether to buy something from japan or something from america, it would be from america. but what sucks is that polaris is using japanese parts now, and not designing anything on there own. so wether i buy a suzuki or a polaris it really doesnt matter because there both built in america and both use jap parts. every business out there is being relied on computers, were do you get the parts for computers, from japan. so i hope i make sense hear, and i understand were you are coming from.

what does susuki have out new this year.. or last year... the z400 is from 02... and if you ask me it is a pile of ****, this is the only quad a really hate, it has to many problems.. frame cracking, timing chain.. alot of nuts and bolts fall off... the seat falls off.. spend the extra 200$ and get a pred... your only loosing reverse.. and if your to lazy to get off and push once in a great while... then you shouldnt be out riding at all.

Holy cow, been up for almost 48 hours getting ready, and driving half way across Wisconsin and back for some drags. I've never seen soooo many nervous Banshee owners ( I like the shee, don't get me wrong) who didn't want to line up against three of us HPD modded Sports/Scramblers. The staging lanes actually bottlenecked due to no one wanting to move. Ooops, I'm being a hypocrite and steering of course myself.
Have you ever done an overnight line-check (detailed pre-flight) on an aircraft that just came back from having major service done in Singapore? I've never been soooo nervous about signing my name on the aircraft forms. Very half-a$$ work, but someone, somehow has it legalized. The American public doesn't care, they just want their precious ticket to be dirt cheap. Some people actually think it's acceptable to have a certain amount of aviation failures (crashes that claim lives) as long as their ticket prices don't go up. How would you like to be that unaccompanied child sitting in the front row of what was left of TWA flight 800....the rest of the plane gone......the fuselage open to the sky......nothing but the rapidly approaching ocean....and your death. Is this acceptable?
Bubba, I caught a report this last week on Levi Strauss....how sad. My hat is off to Harley. They also reported on the shift from soccer moms to NASCAR dads. They warned politicians not to pi$$ them off. Hmmm, don'tcha kinda think it's too late for that?
I still don't buy Nestle' or Dannon products, or stay at any Motel 6's. It's all in principal. My buds are still flying gear over the sand, just because some French pres kisses the first ladies hand.....sorry, it's happened way toooooo many times from the same point of origin.
If the backbone is strong, you have a great foundation for which to build. If the backbone is not of adequate substance (say overly bean counted), how do you expect it to hold the weight of any growth.
Time for some ZZZZZ's. May God Bless America!
