Has anyone ever tried a set of womens panty hose, ziptied over the air vent tubes. I spoke with my Polaris salesman and he brought up this Little solution to prevent large amounts of splashing water from entering the tubes. I have only had my SP 500 for a week now and I haven't had the guts to take my new 6,000 dollar machine to submarine depths yet. Let me know if you have tried this.

The transmission intake or exhaust flow air to cool your belt and clutches. On the back of the front clutch there are 1/2 blades that act as a fan to blow air through the clucth housing. Panty hose will restrict this process letting the clutch and belt heat up, possibly ruining the belt and warping the clutch cover. Putting pantyhose over the air intake will also change the air/fuel mixture. If he is talking about differential vent lines, those cane be routed to the air box. Drill a little hole and run the lines through a gromlet. You should tell your salesman to try putting his pantyhose on his head. It might keep barbage like this from coming out of his mouth. (HA!) Most of the polaris ATV's are easy and cheap to snorkel if you want to go deaper.
