I have a tear in my rear cv boot. Should I fix it my self or take it in to be done? Can anyone give me a a quick lesson on how to do it?

Default cv boot??

It is not difficult to change a cv boot you can do it using normal tools and a little skill.
Suspend your quad and remove the wheel.
Remove the 2 rings that hold the boot on (if you don't have the proper pliers you can use needle nose pliers.
Remove the cotter pin and the large castle nut.
Remove the 2 bolts that hold the upper and the 2 bolts that hold the lower A arm to the hub assembly.
Once the bolts have been removed pull the metal bushing out about 1/4" to clear the hub. Remove the hub.
Suspend the drive shaft and slide the cv boot back towards the transmission so the cv can be seen. Carefully clean the grease off from where the shaft enters the cv, there is a snap ring there and it needs to be spread to remove the cv.
Now that the cv is off make sure it is clean and well lubricated. It is time to remove the old boot and install the new one.
Reverse the order to assemble.

Default cv boot??

My inner cv boot ripped on my 2003 SP700 also. So I ordered the really good Gorilla boots, and doing allot of reading. I am pretty sure I will have to clean the joint, can I use my parts washer to clean the joint?

After the parts washer, I will dry the hell out of it. Then slide the new boots onto the shafts, slide the shafts into the CV joint.
Now is this were you pack the hell out of it with the grease? I guess you just push the grease into all the creavis's.

Once you have the CV cleaned you can pack it with grease. Only use the amount supplied in the kit as it's not a good idea to over pack the CV. As you pack the grease in make sure you rotate the joint to it's extreme so you can pack grease deep into the joint. When finished the CV joint should rotate freely. At this time you can install the CV slip on the new boot.
