I own a polaris 700 and have problems like my coolent leaks every time I ride and Ive called polaris about there rear wheel only engine braking that I find to be the most unsafe In the atv market. Polaris says there Into safety by making the buyer attend atv saftey coarses or they will void there warrenty .Who can I call at polaris that cares enough to help me because the phone calls Ive made have been a waste of time and I think polaris needs to have a recall on there cooling system because If almost every one who has the 700 says they have a leak They Improved the 2004 700 cooling systems so they know they have a problem maybe In 2005 the 700 will have 4 wheel engine braking after somone gets killed.

Send a fax to Thomas Tiller President and CEO of Polaris. I've got one going out to him on Monday about the troubles I've had with my counter balance. The customer service line is worthless.

That is the main proublem with the AWD system it only puts power to the front wheels when the rear wheels lose traction, although this is a pain in snow but the whole system is better than 3and 1/2 wheel drive of other brands. I don't have EBS on my ATV but if I keep the RPMs up to keep the clutch engaged it works pretty good. As for the coolant leaks I would fight to get it fixed.

Ive owned Honda 4wdrs and I have a arctic cat 4wdr and when going down steep hills there systems creep down them with no problem .When going down steep hills 0n my 700 my back wheels start sliding then I hold my breath and start pumping my brakes hoping to get to the bottom alive looking like Forest gump , then when I get to the bottom I say to myself why did I sell my foreman and buy a polaris.
Polaris needs to have a recall and make all 4 wheels grab.

I do not understand. That is what the lever on the left side of your handlebar is for.
When you drive down the street in your car and downshift and it doesn't stop do you complain to the automaker? No, you apply the brakes. The brakes will work better than any EBS from any manufacturer.

I find the ebs on other machines to work better than my Polaris but I dont think that it is a saftey hazard. I have had by back tires lock up but you just hit the brake and slow down with all four tires. I think opther machines just get the job done better with less brake. The way that Polaris engages the 4 wheel drive doesnt let them have 4 wheel ebs or they would have had it already. I still think overall Polaris is a very safe and stable machine. If any atv needs to be recalled as a saftey hazard it is the grizzly that almost tips over just setting on level ground but goes like a bat out of hell

Good point 56. I have come to rely on the EBS and almost forgot about the real brakes. I have had the trouble with the rear wheels sliding a little on some of the steep stuff. I have just accepted it as nature of the beast and really dry dirt. The tech @ my local shop and I are working on an overide switch to lock in the fnt diff full time without freaking out the auto trac part of the stock 4wd. Don't ya just love being a guinea pig?

Im not talking about the brakes Im talking about the ebs that only applys to your rearwheels.
When going down steep hill the rear wheels start locking up then you have to feather your brakes to keep It under control or some what under control and on sreep hills Its scary. If you read the shoot outs In atv mags they all say the same thing, scary going down hills. My arctic cat I can go down steep hills and not even touch the brakes. I hear that the ebs on the 500 sp is applyed to all 4 wheels ,Is that true.
