Scrambler 500 awd
#1
I'm looking at getting a scrambler soon. But as I was reading about it, I realized that it has AWD instead of a true 4x4. So does that mean that when I put it in AWD. The front wheels want kick in until the back wheels slip?

I just got my scrambler a few days ago, and i was bit concerned about that as well. I do extreme rockcrawling in jeeps, so to me when something says it's 4wd, it better be true 4x4! I was quite happy when playing with my new toy to discover how well it climbs rocks with only one front tire getting traction and the other one way up in the air. So needless to say, the 4x4 on the scrambler certainly does deliver true 4x4 and doesn't have an open diff in front allowing the tire with the least traction to slip helplessly.

will your Scrambler keep up with a KFX700 in a 300 yard drag race with all these mods? Reason I ask because I,ve raced one with my 03 500 bone stock and stayed with it for about 100 feet then he pulled off.

scrambo, Im not sure. The only quad that I have raced is my buddies stock '01 DS650. When I was stock,he would start pulling away from me once he hit second gear. It wasn't even funny. He spanked me. Once I put my exhaust and clutch kit in he wasn't able to start pulling away from me until he hit 4th. A big improvement in my eyes. It suprised even him. I don't know what I will do since I put he HPD intake on. I have a few problems and issues that I have to fix before I run at high speeds again.
