Rear Disk Brake Splined Shaft ?
#1
First I really appriciate all the help from everyone on this site! It has been a lot of help!
Again I am working on my brother in law's 92' trailboss 350L 4x4. The brakes don't work on this one either that is the reason he brought it to me in the first place. Anyway I took the rear caliper loose and slid the brake rotor off, the splines on the hub are almost gone. The splines on the shaft coming out of the transmission look a little worn but nothing like the hub. Is this shaft replaceable in the transmission or will it probably be ok if I just replace the hub and rotor? I saw on bigbuckrack.com that they sell a brake upgrade kit for $130.00 that has replacement rotors and pads. Is this kit any good? Any suggestions and help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks again,

Normally the shaft is of a harder material than the hub and would require hub replacement only. If it were mine, I would only change the hub. I would only change the shaft once it stripped, why take a tranny apart if it works fine??? you may create more issues than the ones you solve.
