Why do polaris get trashed on?
#1
I notice that yamaha, honda, and suzuki riders always trash on polaris...and if not for being fast then for breaking down all the time. We had a 1991 trailboss 250 for 10 years and I never had a problem, although it was down on performance. So my dad got a Scrambler 500 and a trailblazer 250. The trailblazer blew (but it was my moms) and since she never rode it we traded it in on a Scrambler 400 X (which I absolutely love) and the only probs on either srammys have been chain problems, other than that there awesome machines.

they had bad experinces with them in the past is what my guess would be. I dont trash other quads because I know there is others out there that like them...but I do not like SOME of the yami riders because SOME of them really bash on others

Well, i think it is more of the "I bought this quad and i think it is the best", people don't want to praise other quads because it would make them feel like they may have bought a lesser quad. Every quad has its high's and lows, even polaris. Yammy has seen its bad days, so has every other ATV/Dirt bike maker. As far as reliability goes, honda does seem to have some reliable quads, more than others. I'll give that to honda, but that is honda's strong point. It's all a matter of opinion, you will never get rid of the trashers as long as people are still people. I don't like to bash on other quads unless im defending from other bashing. Here are my thought just on one:
My buddy bought a 03 Sp600. He has had it for 3 months and this thing looks brand new (he babies it). In that time he has had it in the shop 5 different times for 5 different problems. All covered by warranty but still a pain none the less. I tell him if he we ride a little harder he wouldn't have these problems
I had a 99 Scramber 4x4 and never had any problems though I only had it for a couple of months. At the same time a buddy had a brand new Scrambler 500 who broke his frame by doing a very small jump at the dunes. And another friend had a Scrambler 400 that something went wrong with everytime he rode it.
If you know how to turn a wrench then a Polaris isn't too bad since most repairs are minor or easy. All ATV's are going to require more maintainence than a car. But after being around dirtbikes/atv for the last 20 years, anyone who says that Polaris is just as reliable as a Honda is just plain CRAZY!
