Default scrambler 500 exhaust ?

Im new here guys! Ive been reading the forum for awhile but just now decided to join! Ive got a bone stock scrambler 500 and want to get a pipe but I don't know what to get. Ive heard that the 500 doesnt need a full aftermarket exhaust system, just the slip-on. Is this true?

There's White Brothers, Aaen Performance, HPD, HotSeat, FMF, Supertrapp, ProCircuit and a host of other pipes for Scrammy's.

Most people go with a White Bros or HPD since they specialize in Polaris parts.

The smartest thing to do is to go with whatever fits your budget and your riding area sound levels.....it would suck to spend your money on something that is too loud for your riding area.

I researched a lot on this and found there's no 1 pipe that is the be all-end all and that most will give you about the same performance boost (negligible differences) but the sound levels and tunability are what separates them.

While you're at it throw in a better air filter and check your plug to make sure your jetting is OK.

I have a used hotseat performance kit that has about 100 miles on it. If you are interested, you can see the kit at www.hotseatperformance.com. The kit would have everything except for the k@n filter. I can send you an a picture of the kit if you want to give me your email address. I was happy with the kit and the only reason for selling it is b/c i traded the bike in and took it off b/4 i did. Let me know. I think the kit was $550.00 new so probably looking at $250.00 plus shipping.

I run the Aaen pipe with SuperTrapp spark arrestor and love it. According to the folks at Aaen a full pipe including header is a waste of money. The only gains come from the slip on end.

I run the HPD Powermaxx exhaust and really like it. The others are jsut as good though. A clutch kit in addition to the pipe is a good idea. You would porbably see most gains with a clutch kit.

Hey scrambleronmudlights. Rook Wv said it pretty straight. I am one of the White Bros guys and love mine. Speaking of which Rook I just cleaned the discs this weekend and havent had a chance to see if helped. But back to the original. I am favorable to the White Bros but helped Rook get his Supertrapp(hahahahaha) and it seems to work pretty good to. Just about anything is gonna make a big change from factory cause they restrict so much and also weigh a ton. Good Luck!

Welcome to the forum!!!! I have HPD pipe and clutch kit and love it , it looks good with the chrome pipe and its not very load its just right you can really feel the power and the front end comes up really easy!! Hot seat is not a good idea if you do the math the hpd kit cost less and you gett better stuff!!!
