Default 00' Sprotsman 500 Tough Steering

I have been seraching the forums for fixes to the hard steering problems found with the 2000 Sprotsman 500. I seen some people were moding there steering but was unable to find a current diagram of how this is done or where I can get the mod from. Does anyone have any further information on this?

Thanks

listen, my wife says that she is sore the day after riding my '00 sportsman. there's nothing that i know that you can do other than air the front tires high. i have told my wife to ride more often & eat less bread but, that's the last thing that they want to hear.

Reduced steering effort can be achieved by installing steering arm adaptors which will reduce the steering effort by approx 20 to 25%. I installed a set on my 98 Sp and loved the result. consequently I was requested to make additional sets for other listers on this forum. If you are interested in a set you can send me a private message (the forum is not intended for commercial use) and we can discuss the possibilities.

I have a '98 and a '99 SP 500 with the legendary "armstrong" steering. I'm very interested in knowing more about the steering arm adapters. Not too keen on upping the tire press. too much because of obvious problems in other areas. The quick fix would be to buy a new machine that any 5 yr. old could turn......without the bike moving, but I love these bikes too much to put them out to pasture.
