curious about oil additive

Has anyone else ever wondered about putting something slick 50, duralube, etc in a 4 stroke. I'm not talking about the whole bottle, but something around a 20% mixture. Wondering how it would take the heat generated, and other issues. Tempted to try it on the Boss, has a leaking head gasket that I'm going to have to tear down anyway. Just don't want the motor to seize and make a bigger repair.

Well I would have to say yes and no, I have been working on cars for about 5years now and found that the Lucas oil treatment is the best by far... But with different weight oils and synthetics mixing with the non synthetic oil treatment sometimes it’s not a good idea, if you do go with a synthetic oil treatment and make sure it’s not a heavy weight and it should not hurt anything... I found some royal purple race oil that is made for the drag strip 100% synthetic 0w40 I might give that a try it has never let me down it my race cars!!

I have been using Adams L.E.C. in the wife's '98 SP500 for about 2 years now. It is a Moly based additive, and can be used with synthetic or regular motor oil - tests show it penitrates the metal surfaces up to 0.003". Her SP500 was using oil 2 years ago when I started adding it (20% mixture), and today still consumes about the same amount of oil - even though the quad is used daily. I run this same Adams in the balance shaft sump of my SP400, the transmissions, as well as my trucks and lawn mowers.
You can't buy Adams in a store, only through salesmen. Their plant is located outside of Stephenville, Texas. They make additives for engine oil, gear oils, and gasoline. It runs about $40/gal (8 oil changes for a 5quart system)
You CAN NOT use this in an engine with a wet clutch (honda, yamaha, kawasaki, etc) as the moly gets into the clutch and makes it slip.
