It keeps things cool when you're not going fast.....boiling your radiator isn't a good thing...

Would you take the fan off your car? You have got to keep it on their when you are not moving fast the engine runs hot the cooler you keep your engine the longer the top end will last...

Polaris designs there cooling systems to be fan assisted. That means if you don't have an operating cooling fan your engine will overheat, period. The bottom line is you need the fan.

You should be able to run fan and lights without the battery. As far as I know the fans shut off when the quad is turned off. You may need a different voltage regulator, but they are only about $20.

White Bros. makes a battery eliminator kit. I am not sure what all it intales but it may address the fan issue. If all you do is go in a straight line for a minute and nothing else, then you MAY be able to get away without a battery, but you will have to run Enghine Ice and probably radiator scoops as well. I wouldn't recommend it though. Also, if you don't have the battery eliminator kit and run it without the battery, the voltage spike with blowout your lights and some fuses

To go with CED and Big bad. As long as a coolant additive (Redline's Water Wetter is my fave) is used, these 400's run pretty cool. I would suggest using an HPD billet head also. The eliminator kit is just a jumbo capacitor. You can still run lights, or other gear when the machine is running. You can also step up to a modded stator from Ricky Stator.
