Default "Dial-A-Jet" Any good??????

Anyone have or ever tried these Dial-A-Jet for your atv's? I have a 99' 500 Sportsman and need to know before I buy it, whether or not it is worth the money and also what kind of success these kits have/offer. Thanks -PB500

polarisbear, I have a dial a jet on my sport and i think it works great. It allows me to basically dial in my jetting to any setting i want between jets. I had problems with my quad running right and sputtering, and after a lot of trouble i bought on of these and it seems to work wonderful. I'm not, however, sure wether it is worth it on a sportsman. I dont know a whole lot about utility quads. It only cost me about 30 or 40 dollars i recall, so its worth a try if u are having problems. Brad

They work well. You need to go down two jet sizes to give them room to work.

Talk to Lorn at thunder products.

thanks for the response. I am not having problems, but i read that it may boost the horsepower or at least make it stay where it is supposed to be on any throttle( 4th, half, or full throttles) and that would be nice. What do you mean you can adjust? how does that work? i don't wanna have to adjust things for different riding areas, like one way for mudding, another for pulling, etc.... i don't know how these things work, any help/ideas would be nice. thanks-pb500

by "adjusting", we mean that if it gets humid or something of that nature, you can adjust the jetting of your quad a little to make it run better. It allows you to keep your quad in top running condition, where normally you would just ride it how it is. all you have to do to adjust it is: access the dial a jet, normally just beneath the seat, and losen a set screw and then you can adjust it to leaner or richer by turning the main **** with a strait screwdriver. the dial a jet requires a strait screwdriver to adjust. hope that helps some, other people please feel free to correct if wrong.

We use dial-a-jet for pulling. (atv pulling)

We use them, by haveing a small tank mounted (hidden) under the plastic, we add extra gas and a gas additive (nitro) through the dail-a-jets. Nitro claims 10% increase in power.

I've got Dial-A-Jets on two 01 SP500s and on 97 & 98 Xplorers, and they all work well for altitude adjustments. Here in the AZ desert at 2,700 ft. I can adjust them richer than when I take the ATVs uo to the mountains at 7,000 ft and up. With just a flat screw driver and a minute, I can adjust the fuel mixture to run well at any altitude. I couldn't do what I do without the Dial-A-Jets because I'd have to change the main jets in the carburators each time!
