Default Top speed on a scrambler 500 4x4

As for top end speed i'm not sure what my 03 scrammy will do but I rode with a 660 Grizz on a dirt road and he said we were doing 64mph. I felt that I never hit top speed but it felt like we were doing 90mph. Thats a pretty unnerving feeling taking turns @ 64mph on a dirt road.

Default Speed

I have taken it to top speed on a high way and it was 95 km/h that converts to about 60 Mph

PS I can take off the front chains and leave it 2 wheel drive an makes it feel more free I. The front. Does that make a difference to.

Most of this thread is over 15 years old. May take some time to get an answer but I know there are plenty of people out there with the older Scramblers.

I had one myself, about 60 mph top end speed stock. There are still a lot of them out there for sale used. Polaris built the Scrambler 500 for a long time and a lot of people bought them. I hated the chain drive myself, killed your ground clearance and you had to constantly tighten the chain or it would come loose. I think they should have made them shaft drive just like the Sportsman 500.

I don't know why they don't make an entry level Scrambler with a 570. Would be nice to see in addition to the 850 and 1000. The new suspension is amazing with the IRS rear and shaft drive. Kind of like, why didn't Can-Am ever make a 650 Renegade?

I think a Scrambler 570 would be a hit. The 850 and 1000 are priced out of range for a lot of people. The 570 would have plenty of power for most.

Can't recall the power numbers on the older 500. 32 HP seems to ring a bell. The 570 is 44 HP. Almost 1.5 times more power.

Sounds about right Moose. The older Scramblers were considerably lighter. They had chain drive, solid rear axle and no low range. Still an irs 570 would most likely be noticably faster than an older 500.
