Three of my friends own 400 2wd and another has a 500 2wd and they jump them pretty hard and none have broken front spindles. I hit a tree hard enough with the LF tire of a 400 2wd to pack bark in the tire bead and break the front a-arm mount at the frame and the spindle was fine.

I also had one spindle bend on my first older 95 model, but I was pulled a wheelie and came down sideways on a rock edge. It was enough to make the wheeler turn on it's side. I drove it on to camp and hammered out straight and went on. I havent seen the new models do that, though. I see the name harescramble. Do you do much of that?

I,v broken 2 spindles on my 2wd 400 . Both were broke on hard woop trails. I do Jump IT BIG and after braking my 2nd one i Came up with a fix that I have now used for 2 years With no problems.
What I did is take the front Struts from a 4x4 and modded them . This is what I did: Frist I took the spindle and cut the Cv joint off the spindle right where the cv boot ended After the spindle was cut I welded a nut on it so i could use it to hold the spindle from turing when I tighten up the bearings. After that I riped out the locking thing out but left in the big nut lookingthing that the Locker rolled on. then I cut the wires that controled the locker. Lastly I took out the drain plug for the oil and put a grease zerk in its place then put the cover on and filled it with grease.
All that modding has worked great and now I have 4 taper bearings on each side.
It maybe a little heavier but, at least I haven't Landed on my head in 2 years.
Since then I have JUmped problely over1000 times and nothing has gone wrong.
It may cost alot to get the parts but, it is cheaper then a hospital visit.
