Not sure how much i agree with removing the thermostat. This could be a negative thing for your quad, cause if the coolent doesnt flow slow enough through the rad, it wont cool down enough. The restrictor plate would have to be pretty presice..

For the guys running the Aluminum Billet engine coolers (like Scott88), have you noticed a significant reduction of engine temp and less fan run-time?

 

I "gut" my thermostat and have had it like that for about 8 months now and have not had a problem...... yet

 

I noticed the temp went down some, well the fan doesnt come on as much, but it still comes on. I also made my own cooler..not sure how it compairs to the brand name ones, but it seems to work!
