Hey guys, I have a Predator and am looking to make it faster. I am looking into a pipe and a K&N air filter. My dealer, Nicholas Cycle in Essex Iowa, said that he has had a lot of guys wanting more response out of their carbs, and he will work on the carb and get it fine tuned. Is this worth the money??? His website is www.nicholascycle.com and it tells what his mods are and what he does to the predators. he is a good racer and wins a lot, so he is probably trustworthy. Just on the lighter side, he told me that he had a quad that never lost in glamis 2001 thanksgiving weekend at the drags.

 

i no he made a fast pred that i seen in videos.. i havent screwed with my carb yet... people have nd they say its great... i just dunno if i am into friggin with that part of my machine... all my buddies say they wouldnt do it... but i think thats because they r scared ill smoke em even worse.. lol

 

Tweak it, it is day and night when you get it set up right. Just do yourself a favor and make sure the valves are adjusted properly, mine were too tight and it was giving me all sorts of wierd problems but once I got it figured out and dialed in WOW what a difference!!!!

 

holes in the slide... i was told by some1 else that the holes the opened up were on teh side of the carb itself....
when you cut the spring... did it make the throttle close alot slower?

 

cut about 5 coils off the spring, allows the slide to open faster, make the two holes on the slide larger, change the float level to about 7mm

 

what did this do for you guys...?

Yeah he said that he just came back from some drags, i think in Minnesota and he said they won all kinds of first places. He's a crazy guy, and i believe all of it

i haven't ever saw the vid. Ive seen the quad before though. i guess it went somewhere around 130mph in like 2 city blocks. i dont know but i know he is crazy and has been doing it for a while so he knows his stuff. He was at the drags last weekend and made a good name for the predator. he told me that the yz450's or whatever they are, were acting all bad until he spanked them!!!
