i was wondering where a person could get a hi compression piston and a different cam for my 500 scrambler any info would be appreciate

Good Luck on the search for any real good hi compression piston other than 11:1. Hotcams makes a cam and so does Aeen I believe. If find a higher compression piston please let me know cause those are the next two things to go on mine. I know Mickey Dunlap builds stuff for Scramblers and I imagine there are a few more engine builders who do as well but I dont know them off hand.

 

I don't sell a cam for the 500 . I have not seen big benefits on the 500 engine from cam replacements . I have a ethical problem with selling parts that don't provide the performance one expects.

Any modified 500 Scrambler owners in the room that have any parts they would care to recommend ?

Rick, so do you think that the only way to gain more power would be a big bore kit, like FST's 628cc kit??? I have looked at prices and come to realize that If I do the Aaen mods (cam, HC piston, porting) that is will cost almost as much as the 628 kit. I have been contimplating the 628 kit and maybe a 42mm TMX carb......or..... if Polaris releases the EFI for the SP 500 I will adapt it to my scrammy.

I am suprised that there is no one in here who has tried any of these modifications . First hand information form an owner is what we need .
