THAR SHE BLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!
O.k. switch from one first year quad, to another? If you do, you better accept the fact that odds are they'll both have some sort of problem areas to deal with, and Yamaha doesn't have the best track record when it comes to coverage. Even if Polaris doesn't cover your labor, free, out of warranty parts was still quite a good deal, the last time I checked. No one has a leg to stand on if they're gonna even try to bad mouth Polaris. Yamaha just flat left people in the cold on the Raptor.....hopefully they learned and will be much more accommodating when it comes to taking care of the 450 owners. To claim there wasn't a trans problem then come out with new parts for the following year.....that's as close to a neon light slap in the face as you can get.
Personally, I'd get the problem fixed, and go ride.

I don't think the tranny problem has anything to do with gear failure's, the one's I know about
have been shift fork concerns. Polaris has corrected this with the 04 models. Race parts are designed to take more abuse, A stock bike was not designed to take abuse from racing. I don't agree with Modquad very often but he is right, build it back to take the abuse and go racing.
