Predator crankshaft
#1
Has anybody heard of the Pred crankshaft twisting? My nephew has his in the shop and they think that may be the problem. The shop it is in has a bunch of idiots working there. They have had it for four weeks, this is the third thing they have said was wrong. 1st-new carb, 2nd-CDI, guessing both times. It's all been covered under warranty, but he's missed 2 camp/rides. The shop said Polaris has had one other twist the crank. For anybody in the DFW area, it's Dean Implements. Dealt with them once (throw in your Johnny Dangerous line here), won't go back again. I take my stuff to Cycle Town South, anybody in DFW area know of places east of Dallas with a good shop?

Maybe call polaris directly and tell them what is going on if you question the shops competence. 4 weeks is a long time, and taking stabs in the dark like that without actually tearing down to look isn't a good Idea...I can't belive they were trying to swap the carb and CDI...what was it doing when it went down? Why did it go in for repairs?

I thought he said it would start then die (wasn't there when it first started). I've given him Polaris' phone number. The dealer is more of a farm implement (it was closer to him). I think that was his first mistake. The sad thing is he has bought three quads from them. After I found out what he paid, I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere. He's put a few mods on it and flat out flew. Bringing the front wheels up in third gear was way to easy. Once he gets it back, I think we'll take to the place I go to just to check what they've done. May have to leave it at my house for more "testing" I post any news I get from him.
