I am going to purchase a 90 ATV for my son for Christmas. I have a Scrambler 500 4x4 and love it. However, I don't know which child ATV is best. There are no longer 2004 Youth Scramblers. They are all offering pretty good financing options right now, Most have auto transmissions - minus the Honda 90, yet no one offers reverse except for these Chinese made ATV's. Some have headlights, which I think we really need. Any reccommendations?

 

The pred 90 is still the same thing as the scram 90. Just different plastic. For 04 they added a horn and made the grab bar in the back bigger. There is a wire already there (I think) in case you want to hook up lights. I like the pred because of it's widder tires and lower center of gravity. And just because of its looks. I think the lt80, dinli looks dumb. My kids want be doing any racing with them. So looks to me is important more so than what it will do on the track. Also the pred 90 will fit your kid better as he/she gets older.

 

My son has a Kawi KFX80. It will haul me around pretty good. Open up the screw and I can ride wheelies all day. They are also very dependable. They are worth checking out.

 

I got the Pred 90 for my son and it is a hoot to ride and I am 185 lbs it does fine with me on it. I have not had any problems with it. The DS90 is the same but less expensive and there is one other company that sells the same quad under another name anyhow they are all the same. Polaris just gets about 400 dollars more for theirs but I think it looks better. jmo

 

my friend bought a 90cc alpha sport a 2000
and we found out the have the same engine as the polaris
and we had some trouble but it did haul him around good until he was 15
what about a 160 suzuki
how old is your son
he will stay in the 160 alot longer
it has reverse
but u have 2 shift but it is a auto clutch

 

WEll the alpha sport,polaris,and i believe the eton and xtreme all made by Aeon. I dont believe the pred 90 is the same as scrambler 90 i believe it is better. The predator is one of the top 5 mini-quads out there right now on the race scene. It all depends on what he is gonna do with it.

 

i was wondering about buying a quad for my kids too. do they jump from 90cc to 250cc or is there anything in between? also, are there any mini quads that are reverse and/or 4 stroke?

 

I would go with a Yamaha 125 Breeze or the new 125 Grizzly.Great quads for that inbetween kid.

Ya there is some 150,160 out there. Just gotta look a bit. Its early in the morning and cant remember who has them but if ya pm me ill see if can remember but yes there are inbetween bikes and not just the yamaha stuff.
