Default ITP mudlites for scrammy 2x4

i was wondering if i could go with itp mudlites on the rear and leave the stock tires on the front, the reason for this is because the front tires have 75-80% tread left and i'm trying to save money.(i'm only 15)

and if i can, what size do you all think would be better 22's or 23's
also i have been hearing that you should have an inch difference in the front and rear, why is this so?

thanks

I'm not sure if there is any other reason but the 1" difference is for the 4x4's to keep the ratio the same so that the front hubs engage at 20% difference. As far as I know a 2x4 Scrammy would do fine with a larger rear tire.

thanks for the quick response,
now i feel a lil safer knowin that the whole "1 inch difference wont effect me"

and 1 last question, will these tires affect my acceleration and top speed becuase i find mysels drag racing alot lately and if it does affect it will it be in a negative or positive way

another reason i want then is because i raced a stock v-force and he got the take off becuz my tires didnt catch instant traction and he ended up winning the 300 ft drag by 1 car length

if your doing alot of drag racing stick with the 22's and just get a aggressive tread pattern and go wider even,a bigger tire is going to make you more tippy and wont accelerate as fast, but you might gain a tinybit more top speed..

Im not as serious about the drag racing,i just do it for fun and a lil braggin rights, but i mainly hit the trials and lately they have been muddy so i want a size that can tackle the mud and still grip the ground when racing and last but not least throw roosts at my friends behind me on the trails!!!

23" mudlites would serve you well. or 22's

Our Scrambler will be getting Mudlites soon.
