part on a pred.. help QUICK!

what the hell is that thing down by the shifter that goes into the motor.. is a small oval shaped thing with 2 screw flanges coming off of it.. its attached to a wire that goes up to the rest of the wires?? what is it? neutral sensor.. ? my quad is in neutral.. and it rolls... light doesnt work and it wont start in nuetral!! help i need to know what this is!

According to the manual on 7.2 if it is in neutral there is no continuity so logically if you disconnect it completely you should be able to start it in any gear. If that works then either you have a bad switch or whatever triggers it. Good luck.

When you say the light doesn't work, do you mean the entire quad is dead an not even the headlight works? Or, do you mean the nuetral light isn't working either? If the entire machine is dead, check the main power C/B on the LH side of machine (viewed like you're sitting on it). There's a little black pouch you can cut open to access it. If the terminals are corroded, that'll be your problem. You can clean them up with CRC 2-26 contact cleaner, but it's best to replace it.
