Lube before you ride, after you ride, after you wash, and check before, during, and after each ride and adjust it as needed. There really isn't a "break in" for a chain...Just don't break it by over tightening. And if it's too loose, it will pop off or wear your sprockets out faster.

thanks pudljumpr, but what Im saying is a chain from the factory will losen, as you break-in the motor, the chain also breaks-in itself how many hrs on the machine you think before you actually have to adjust it. Also whenever I adjust my chain to the specified freeplay which is a 1/4 to 3/8 according to polaris I have other riders feel the adjustment and they say it feels to tight. This quad I have has 3.5 hrs on it from me I do not know what the dealer or the factory has on it if any at all. I have not touched the chain yet for adjustment but right now there is about 3/4 of an inch freeplay is this to much? the quad is just parked. thanks again...............
