Questions about 03 Predator???
I have a chance to get a pretty good deal on an 03 Predator from a friend, but I have a few questions.
1.What major issues have the 03's had? I've heard sticky trannies and broken frames on a few?
2.What all is Polaris changing for the 04 model? I've heard a tranny upgrade, frame upgrade, swingarm, different hubs that will accept multiple wheels, and that they're lightening up the quad, and slightly different plastic.
3.Can you lighten up the 03, shave wieght here and there?
4. How well do they respond to mods(pipe, jetting, filter, other), and have the aftermarket parts began to shower for the Predator?
5. Any other issues on the 03? Come on, lets hear them!!!
I mostly trailride, but do enjoy jumping, and tooling around. Some day I may even consider racing, if I have the right quad. Any feedback would be appreciated!

ya the 03's have tranny problems.. they go when you dont use the clutch or let off the gas while shifting... that was fixed in 04's...
the 04's saw an upgraded tranny... and shocks.. and something with the frame.. also a shorter swing arm for better handling and 9 inch wheels and 4/110 hubs just like honda/susuki
as far as lightening them up.. i dunno.. not that worried about weight
i put a biggun on my pred.. along with a k&n clamp on.. easy to jet.. carb is right there for ya.. unlike yamaha where you gotta dissasemble the entire quad just to get to it.. (well.. not quite, but close!!!)
i think th epred is the best all around quad.. all quads can do most everything.. but the pred can do all of them well.. comfortable in the trails.. but on the other hand you can take it to a track and do well..
