Be very cautious of powerwashing near the chain. A powerwasher will destroy your o-rings. Other than that, jsut clean it up real well. Check the airbox for sure. If it is real bad. I like to take the plastic off and make sure I get it real well. And take off the skid plates and get behind thoses. Mud likes to hide under them

Make sure you clean the mud off as soon as you can because it is a lot easier when it is fresh.
Grease all the zerks. I don't know if Polaris eliminated any of the zerks for '04, but there are usually ones on the a-arms, ball joints, top and bottom of steer post, 2 front U-joints, 3 zerks on the drive shaft, 2 on the swing arm and one on the axle housing. Don't forget to lube the chain (when clean) either.
If you do a lot of mudding, it is also a good idea to change your hub fluid often. If you are taking your PVT cover off as suggested earlier, I would recommend blowing your clutches off with compressed air (don't breath any of that stuff in) and wiping them clean with a rag and some brake cleaner.
