Default Modified 400 reboring which size

I have to questions:1. it's time to rebore due to cylinder condition- i'm at 40 over now- should i only go 60 over or would i see a big difference at 80. 2. Would you think i would see a big difference with a v-force reed system? The engine is as: 40 wiseco, dual stage reeds, Uni air filter, mod air box, trail ported (budda), aaen trail pipe and silencer, 38mm TMX flatside, 0.010"off head, 2lbs off flywheel, no starter or pump, 44:1 klotzs',
Give me thoughts if you would - later

Save that extra bore...you will not be able to tell any difference. The reeds work pretty good if you have an extra $150.

Like Podgrag said save your bores for later. I assume you would already have some after market reeds with all the other things you have but if not just try some aftermarket reeds with your stock reed cage. Should help your throttle response and acceleration.

Dont waste that extra bore for nothing. It wont make a hill of beans. If you are using the stock reedcage and reeds I would put a good $40 set of reeds on that cage. I have also used the super stock reeds and they work great too for a little less than that. Also you can take another .010 off that head without any problems at all as long as you make sure to run premium gas. Just gives that extra little bit.

Bubba, i currently have boyesean dual stage reeds in the stock cage - would the v-force reeds/cage give me any noticeable improvement? I'll have the tool shop take another 10 off the head - would it help to polish the head inside the dome (chamber area) or is there a modification that would improve performace in this area? I did the trail port and polish like you told me to do this summer - while i have the cylinder off is there anything more i should do with the porting (or anything that needs to be glass or sand blasted) and still be able to trail ride. i'm currently running 44:1 klotz super tech and premium gas - sound alright to you? Thanks for all your input.

A polished chamber helps flame travel and keeps detonation at bay, but you also remove material and that decreases compression. If you could take some good detailed pics of the inside of the jug at the ports I might could help you more on the porting. Porting by pictures....... Rick Ritter would have a laugh at that one. I forgot, the reeds you are using are great as far as I'm concerned. that's what we run on my wife's trail mod Scrammy.
