Scrambler Rattle

Hope everyone is having a good Holiday Weekend. Took the Scrammy out yesterday for the first time and was following the breakin procedure, but noticed that there is a rattling sound coming from the bottom of the unit at 5-10 mph. Looked underneath, could'nt find anything loose, but then again, didn't know what to look for. Checked the skid plates, seem tight to me. Has anyon else have this problem or any Polaris tech here on line suggest what it may be and what to look for to fix. Thanks for the help folks. PS Other than that, this thing is AWESOME!!!! Later, Rod.

I'm with rook. Those plastic chain gaurds are the source of much noise and aggrivation. Most guys I know ditch them pretty quick. One othe thing it could be is your U joints on the front drive shaft. Mine make a little noise now and then. Goes away after greasing.

If it is more like a clicking sound, I would check to see if the chain is too tight. A buddy got a new bike, I think it was an 03 Boss that did it, The chain was way too tight. He took it to the dealer on the next Monday, but by then it had worked itself out and the noise was gone. The dealer told him the factory sets them a little tight on all new Polaris quads so that they loosen up as they break in. Just a thought

Well, took it out again today, noise is still there. But as Rookieracer put it, its only at slow speeds. Hope it goes away as well, but will check the plastic chain guard like Rook said. Thanks for the input guys. What a ride though, even at half throttle. Can't wait to after the 10 hours to start riding hard!
