just concider the fact i can only buy the dvx400 which i heard bit better than the z400 and i can get pred500 too
and i already have a ds650 and whould it have such a big diffrent riding the bid heavy ds and the pred/dvx?

 

If you're really looking at speed. no matter which machine you choose, you can easily/cheaply re-gear it for the type of riding you do. Both the Kawizukicat 400 and the Predator are very capable machines. Have to laugh, it's been sooo long since I heard the comments about the types of fasteners used....good grief, don't you own a standard, metric, and torx tools? If someone is that ill-equipped, they shouldn't be looking at a quad anyway.

Go ride them both. Weigh the standard equipment lists, prices, dealer service reputations, and pic the one you like. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

the dvx and z400 are exactly the same.. nothing is different...
the top speed of a DVX is about 68... and i have 73 and 75 for the pred...
the DVX weights about 370.. pred.. 412.. the pred has alot more power all around.. but if your just gonna ride trails i would go with the DVX.. it has a much softer suspension and like said above.. doesnt vibrate as much.

 

The DVX plastic is unique to Arctic Cat....if you ask me, out of the 3 designs, they sure did it nicely. Those removable front fenders are nifty.

Both are nice machines but I think you'd be better off with the DVX myself. If you're looking for a quad you can throw around more in the air then this is the one...while the pred has a bunch of power but is still a tad heavy.
To my knowledge there isnt any difference between the Z and DVX other than looks and fenders. If you're wanting to get away from the weight issue then the DVX is the way to go.

 

The DVX is a bit lighter, but when you have most of todays machines right around the 400 mark or lower, all are capable. Dana Creech didn't seem to have too many troubles with the Predator in Huevos 6.

 

that 20 or 30 lbs. doesnt make a diff. with the more powerfull predator. The predator is a fine machine. you can throw it all around.

 

Only difference in DVX is plastic, headlights, reverse **** location,seat, otherwise it is exactly the same bike as the Z400.
